Pioneer Saloon

2925 Woodside Road

Woodside

This is an authentic "Wild West" saloon that has deep and significant roots in the early development of the town and surrounding areas of what is now known as Woodside. This quaint and picturesque town nestled in the hills was originally a major source of Redwood timber for the building boom in San Francisco in the mid 1800's. There were at least eight sawmills and one shingle mill and as lower hills were timbered out, the mills were moved up the canyons and over the hills. As more people were attracted to this beautiful valley, there were schools and libraries, churches and saloons established on Whiskey Hill Road. The Pioneer Hotel was built in 1882, and the original facade still stands. The current Pioneer Saloon is within this historic building. It's a fabulous venue for a wide variety of LIVE MUSIC on the weekends. You'll meet friendly patrons, attentive bartenders, hear great music! Come out and bring your family and friends, this is the place where you'll have a really good time, "Dancing Your Blues Away!"

San Gregorio General Store

7615 Stage Rd.,

San Gregorio

The San Gregorio General Store has been operating since 1889. The original stagecoach stop stands across Highway 84 from the store. In 1915, the community was home to seven cheese factories. San Gregorio has been the site of several film locations and television episode scenes.

For over forty-one years, the General Store has been lovingly run by George Cattermole, wife, and team. He recognized that local musicians were socially aware and are willing to play for little or nothing for a good cause. He loves providing a place for the locals to play as well as fans to come and listen. He has had festivals held on the property featuring bands like the TUBES, BOB WEIR, COUNTRY JOE AND THE FISH, MICHAEL HEDGES, as well as many fine local bands, David Elias, Box Set, Claddaugh Band, The Fall Risk, Marty Atkinson and Katy Boyd. George now features great local and regional musicians inside on weekends. JOAN BAEZ has played there once before one of her tours. This fully working general store has many aisles of cool books and gifts, cards and merchandise. This venue is San Gregorio's de facto community performing arts center!  Come by and enjoy Blues to Rock, Bluegrass, Jazz, Singer-songwriters, and more. Come out and enjoy the music, have a nice lunch, a drink, and shop for special gifts, books, and continue your adventure to the picturesque San Gregorio Beach, just a few minutes "Down The Road A Piece!"

LOS GATOS LODGE

50 Los Gatos-Saratoga Rd.

Los Gatos

"This is an old school bar and grill, the kind you don't see very often in the Bay Area these days. When everything is new, and shiny, and innovative, and modern, this is a stalwart of solid food and beer. (ed. note: they have a full bar). I thought the food was excellent, the portions were huge, and the price was inexpensive. I highly recommend checking it out."

We agree! Plus we love the wide-open stage and ample dance floor. This classic, well-stocked-full-length mirror-backed bar has lots of seating and friendly, gracious hosts! Put on your dancing shoes, get ready to "Dance Your Blues Away"!
